[video] Jonathan Ive wins MDA award for iPhone; Hardware & Software.

The Mobile Data Association (MDA) has presented an award to Apple’s lead design guru, or the Senior VP of Industrial Design as Apple calls him, Jonathan Ive. Ive was given a Personal Achievement Award
not only representing his magnificent design on the iPhone hardware, but aspects of the revolutionary touch-based interface as well. The MDA quotes that the combination of Ive’s lustrous design, and the iPhone’s software has “redefined the mobile phone/industry as we know it.” And we definitely agree with the MDA on this one.

“The trade group also notes the importance of including Safari on the iPhone, said to have “pushed mobile content into the forefront of the consumer consciousness.” The iPhone “sets the bar very high for all present and future competitors,” the MDA goes on, and is “shaking the mobile phone industry.” Macnn reports.

Apple has continued to push the envelope with design and thrive on the cutting edge of technology. These awards come as no surprise to such successful designs, concepts, products, business models and the combination of all four. As apposed to a phone or device that was slopped together by a committee of people, Jonathan Ive truly has a genuine eye for amazing design. He is able to zero in on the mass consumer appeal, time and time again while producing something everyone will lust for. This genuine, soulful eye (and taste) for good design cannot be taught, and Apple’s Jonathan Ive continuously lets us know that “he knows what we want.”
