Leaked Images: 4th Gen iPod nano Cases

In line with recent rumors, some potential hard evidence has been dug up regarding the change in design for the upcoming 4g iPod nano.

Previous reports have also pointed to a taller, vertically slimmer form factor in the upcoming nano.

Additionally, Engadget reports that they have “just come across two case-related designs supposedly destined for Apple’s next PMP, but both raise as many questions as they answer. Chinese accessory-maker Beelan apparently has a silicon sleeve ready to drop ship to a location of your choice via Alibaba, and iDealsChina is showing off renders of the 4th gen nano and another case from “some unknown Canadian company.”

Apple doesn’t really tell anyone anything until a product is officially released. Even leaders in the third-party accessory industry such as Griffin know nothing until the product is released, most of the time making calculated estimates based on size and limited specs about the device. Although the accessory companies don’t like to work this way, it is essential for them to have a product available immediately when a new Apple product is released, in the hopes it goes hand in hand with a potential sale.

For this reason, and the sheer volume of in-line rumors regarding the iPod nano design change, it’s safe to say that this rumor is likely accurate.
