Obama ‘08 Campaign Releases iPhone App, Wants You to Get Involved

Get ready for what may be the most clever political PR campaign to hit the iPhone App Store: Presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s team has released an iPhone Application on Thursday that turns the coveted device into a political recruiting tool. The software is the latest effort by politicians, joined by the likes of YouTube, Web-based fund raising, Facebook pages and fan groups, to capitalize on current, trend-setting technology.

According to software developers, the most notable feature of the downloadable application (iTunes link) ”organizes and prioritizes your contacts by key battleground states, making it easy to reach out and make an impact quickly.” The Obama For America iPhone app also includes a “get involved feature” that utilizes the phone’s GPS to find the nearest Obama campaign headquarters and local events. A corresponding “media” section provides the user with links to videos and photos. Similar to other political minded apps, this application also includes Obama’s statements to the media and a guide to his positions on various controversial issues.

Talk about a powerful device. With the addition of this new application to the iTunes App store, iPhone users could technically (we emphasize “technically”) change the world with the press of a button. Go ahead, call your friend in Michigan and tell him why he should vote for the big O….or better yet, unitize the ranking system and send an email out to all of your contacts in battleground states in an iPhone initiated call for action! We have the power…Now it is just our choice on how we are going to use it.

Disclaimer: Macblogz would like to officially clarify that we do not publicly endorse either candidate….That said: Vote Obama!

Obama 08 is very cool app. But if you spend 2 or more hours in front of your computer(may be for campaigning), you should try Clip2Mobile for iPhone. more info

Clip2mobile will transfer notes, make calls, add contacts, launch map, launch urls..etc all from your computer. No more typing on your iPhone.. perfect To Go application. Try it today. BTW its free
