Weekly Recap: App Store, Emoji, Advertising and Black Friday

Advertising Budgets, Commercials and Retail Stores

Another Apple commercial showcasing the iPhone 3G’s speeds was banned due to “misleading claims.” Also, Apple and Microsoft’s advertising budgets were compared to each other, and Apple’s notebooks get dipped in a little more green.

App Store Situations and Lawsuits

It’s no surprise that the way Apple runs the App Store has left a lot of people baffled. This weekend was no exception as Google admitted to breaking some App Store rules, and BdEmailer was approved. As usual, Apple’s legal team is still hard at work.

Speculation, Analyst Opinions and Black Friday

Apple is investigating graphics issues in their Macbooks. Former Beatle Paul McCartney thinks that record labels are holding up the Beatles/iTunes deal, and the good old netbook rumor resurfaced, this time from a different source. Additionally, Apple was expected to release its “deepest” and most significant Black Friday deals yet. While the deals offered were at a nice discount, nothing was especially surprising or different from previous years.
