Apple’s Health Disclosures About Steve Jobs Lead to SEC Review

Bloomberg is reporting that “a person familiar with the matter” says the SEC is reviewing the way Apple handled and released information about CEO Steve Jobs’ health.

Bloomberg was the site that accidentally published Steve Jobs’ obituary back in late August. In addition to that mishap, some of Bloomberg’s coverage regarding Steve Jobs’ health has been questionable at best. Citing irrelevant analysts in stories pertaining to Apple and Steve Jobs has seemingly become regular practice for them.

“The Securities and Exchange Commission’s review doesn’t mean investigators have seen evidence of wrongdoing, the person said, declining to be identified because the inquiry isn’t public.”

Bloomberg also claims that Jobs may be getting a liver transplant, however they are the only ones to release such claims citing doctors who have not treated or worked with Jobs at all.

As a reminder, Apple will be releasing Quarter 1 Financial Results Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm PT/5:00pm ET.

The best thing anybody can do at this point is let this blow over and go away. The more Jobs’ health keeps getting brought up, the more idiotic speculation and stupid “Reports” we’ll here from Bloomberg. Everyone needs to move on.
